SOAS University of London’s Centre of South East Asian Studies will be hosting a week-long festival showcasing South East Asian contemporary feature films from each of the ten member-states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN): Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, London Committee (ALC) in collaboration with the SOAS Centre of South East Asian Studies, has put together a programme of recently released, critically-acclaimed studio films for the general viewing public. All films are subtitled in English.
The Festival will be opened by Singapore High Commissioner H.E.(Ms) Foo Chi Hsia and Professor Rachel Harrison, Chair of the SOAS Centre of South East Asian Studies on 21 May before a special screening of the film Ramen Teh (Ramen Shop).
The festival will run from 21-25 May and will feature films including Price of Love [Cambodia], Rise of the Legend [Malaysia] and The Tailor [Vietnam]. See the full programme here.
