Professor Victor Murinde, AXA Professor in Global Finance at SOAS University of London, has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
Professor Victor Murinde, the AXA Professor in Global Finance and Director for the Centre for Global Finance, is a financial economist, with more than 25 years’ expertise, post-PhD, mainly involving university research and teaching, but also including senior-level stints at practitioner, policy and consultancy roles for governments and leading international organisations. He is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of a large research project (Euro 2.6 million) on “Delivering Inclusive Financial Development and Growth”, funded under the DFID-ESRC Growth Research Programme.
Professor Victor Murinde was awarded his Fellowship certificate at a ceremony following the ASS’s Annual General Meeting on 20 June 2019 by ASS President Sir Ivor Crewe (image above).
The Academy is the national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. The Academy is composed of 1335 individual Fellows, elected from leading academics and professional practitioners drawn from across the breadth of the social sciences. The Academy also has 43 Learned Society members and a number of affiliates. This community of organisations together represents nearly 90,000 social scientists.
