SOAS alum Ramla Ali, who obtained a first-class law degree at SOAS University of London, is one of 15 all-female ‘forces of change’ who will appear on the cover of September’s edition, guest-edited by the Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle.
Ramla is the first female Muslim to become British Boxing Champion. Her determination to succeed no matter what circumstances she finds herself in greatly impressed the Duchess, who said she chose “a diverse selection of women from all walks of life, each driving impact and raising the bar for equality, kindness, justice and open-mindedness”.
In a tweet, Ramla said it was “an absolute honour to have been selected by HRH The Duchess of Sussex @SussexRoyal who has guest-edited this year September issue for @BritishVogue.” She also added a special thanks to the Editor of Vogue, Edward Enninful.
