Covid-19 (novel coronavirus) - advice for the SOAS community

11 March 2020

SOAS University of London continues to keep its staff, students and partners updated about Covid-19 risks facing the UK, following best advice from Public Health England (PHE) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). We have active preparation steps in place to mitigate the impact and respond to any changing circumstances in our community, in the UK and overseas.

For latest updates for our staff and students see detail on our intranet pages (SOAS login needed)

We are encouraging all of our visitors, as well as staff and students, to follow best practice preventive health advice from PHE.

SOAS events continue to run as normal at present – except for specific events which might be disrupted by travel impact of worldwide containment measures, or the personal circumstances of individual speakers.

We continue to support any students on study abroad years in other countries which might be affected by Covid-19 measures.

We are also providing best advice and guidance to potential students looking to enrol at SOAS in 2020-21 and taking mitigating steps to ensure that our admissions processes take account of impact of Covid-19 control measures in different countries on qualifying examinations.

We are not able to provide specific information on any potential individual case at SOAS - but we will provide general updates.
