MA Islamic Art students visit Brunei Gallery exhibition and British Museum Ancient Mesopotamian ...

On March 15th 2022, students taking the course MA Islam and the West: Artistic and Cultural Contacts were treated to a workshop tour of the new Brunei Gallery exhibition ' Co-existent Ruins: Exploring Iraq’s Mesopotamian past through contemporary art ' - a collaborative visual research project curated by Dr Hanaa Malallah with Iraqi artists: Rayah Abd Al-Redah; Betoul Mahdey; Fatimah Jawdat, Rozhgar Mustafa and Michael Rakowitz.

Dr Malallah and Professor Anna Contadini led the students on this guided workshop tour, which was followed by a visit to the British Museum Ancient Mesopotamian galleries to view a range of related artefacts.
