The Muslim South Asia Research Forum - MUSA held its first annual graduate conference on 28th October 2013 in the Brunei Gallery at SOAS. The conference show-cased the work of young scholars from Europe, U.K, the US, Pakistan and India, across a range of disciplines. Panel themes included Muslim Representations of Self and Others, Muslim Thought and Practice, Mobilisations and Activism and South Asian Muslims in Transnational Contexts. A key-note address was delivered by Professor Francis Robinson (University of Oxford) followed by a lively plenary discussion amongst discussants and with the audience. Podcasts will shortly be available on the MUSA website.
MUSA is an inter-disciplinary research network launched in May 2013 and run by four SOAS students, Najia Mukhtar (PhD Politics), Johann Chacko (PhD Politics), Francesca Fuoli (PhD History) and Sameen Mohsin Ali (PhD Politics). Find out more about MUSA.
