Ghassan Zaqtan is one of the most important Palestinian poets of his generation. He has published ten poetry collections, two novels, and his work has been translated in several languages. 'Like a Straw Bird It Follows Me' is the first translation of his work in English. The book includes selections for his most recent works over the last decade, and the entirety of his latest collection.

Fady Joudah, a Palestinian American, is also a physician. His first poetry collection, 'The Earth in the Attic' (2008), won the Yale Series for Younger Poets award. His translations of Mahmoud Darwish's poetry received a Banipal/TLS prize for Arabic translation in the UK in 2008 and a PEN USA prize in 2010.
