SOAS academic co-edits book exploring breakdown of trust between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in West

Dr Amina Yaqin, Senior Lecturer in Urdu and Postcolonial Studies at SOAS University of London, has co-edited the book Muslims, Trust and Multiculturalism: New Directions with Palgrave MacMillan which explores the themes of trust and multiculturalism across a range of perspectives, employing insights from political science, sociology, literature, ethnography and cultural studies.

SOAS scholar at Joint Committee on Human Rights discussing freedom of speech at universities

Alison Scott-Baumann, Professor of Society and Belief at SOAS University of London and Project Leader, of the AHRC funded Re/presenting Islam on Campus Project gave evidence at the Joint Committee on Human Rights on free speech and the importance of strengthening interfaith work on campus. The JCHR today published their final report on freedom of speech in universities, citing Professor Scott-Baumann’s research.

SOAS scholar publishes book on Jewish art

Professor Catherine Hezser, Professor of Jewish Studies at SOAS, has published a book on Jewish art in collaboration with Dr Uzi Leibner from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
