EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS)

Explore the library

EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) allows you to search across a wide range of databases, e-journals, e-books and more.

EBSCO, the makers of EDS, are partners in the SOAS' new Library management system (Kuali OLE) .  This enables us to easily integrate EDS into the Library system and catalogue for a more seamless search experience. EDS includes many more of SOAS' subscription databases for you to search across - notably a range of Chinese, Japanese & Korean language databases. EBSCO also host much of the full-text e-journal content available at SOAS, so many articles can be downloaded right in EDS without the need to link out to other websites.

You can go direct to EDS: http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,shib&custid=s8438947&profile=eds

or you'll find a handy search box embedded right in the Library catalogue (in 'Online resources/articles'):

https://library.soas.ac.uk/ which allows you to search either for SOAS' print holdings or e-resources from the same place.

Access and authentication

EDS is available to all Library users on-campus. Current SOAS students and staff can also access EDS off-campus. A SOAS id and password are required for off-campus use.

If you would like any help with EDS please ask at the Library Enquiry Desk, Room E10, Level E (10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday).
