Arabbarometer

The first wave of the Arab Barometer began in 2006/07 with the first round of surveys administered in seven countries. An eighth country was surveyed in 2009.The eight countries included in the first round of the Arab Barometer are Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Bahrain, Algeria, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Yemen. In 2010/11, second wave Arab Barometer surveys were conducted in eleven Arab countries. Although it was not possible to conduct a second wave survey in Kuwait and Bahrain, five new countries were added to the Arab Barometer. The second wave of the Arab Barometer thus included surveys in Algeria, Morocco, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Tunisia, and Egypt. The third wave of the Arab Barometer was released in 2014. Countries included in this wave are Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.

"KIKUZOU II Visual" is renewed as "Asahi Shimbun Cross-Search." It is the largest newspaper article database in Japan. Bungei Shunjū is regarded as one of the most popular and influential literary magazines in Japan. This Archives provide full-texts of 323 issues between January 1, 1923 (Taisho 12) to December 1, 1950 (Showa 25). China Maxx is the European mirror site of Superstar Digital Library (超星数字图书馆). It is a full-text database of e-books purchased from China. Titles such as: 四库全书存目, 四库禁毁书丛刊,四库未收书刊辑 totalled 2,000 volumes,  are in the database. Four early twenty century periodicals such as 新青年 & 妇女杂志,are also included. Important Chinese culture and historical data, such as上海市文史资料,山东省文史资料 &  北京文史资料 in 1, 700 volumes together with over 200 volumes ebooks have been  purchased. Consists of theses and dissertations information from Taiwan higher education institutions after 2004. At present, this database contains theses and dissertations mainly from Taiwan universities, including National Taiwan University, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts, National Tsing Hua University and National Taiwan Normal University, with over 27,000 bibliographic citations and 16,500 theses in full text. Subject coverage includes humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, applied sciences, medicine and life sciences. The best result is gained by searching with terms in traditional Chinese. All articles are available in PDF format so you will need Acrobat Reader version 5.X

Collection of Handwritten Materials by Japanese Modern Literary Writers - 近代文学作家自筆資料集

This database contains about 480 handwritten materials by more than 60 writers who have led the modern Japanese literature, such as Kyoshi Takahama, Soseki Natsume, Ogai Mori, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Shiki Masaoka, Haruo Sato, and Takashi Nagatsuka. The original materials are held by Kyoshi Memorial Museum. The database also includes handwritten letters, postcards, illustrations and the final chapter of Soseki Natsume's "I Am a Cat" It is a valuable historical material that allows users to see the lively modern Japanese literary scene

Dacheng Old Journal full-text database 大成老旧刊全文数据库

A collection of 7,000 periodicals, 130,000 issues and 1.3 million articles, which were published from 1840 to 1949 in mainland China. Many of the periodicals are rare and unique during late Qing Dynas. Most journals may not have the complete run of issues. Subjects covered include philosophy, economic, politics, military, industry, agriculture, transportation, literature ,history, geography , astronomy and astrology.

A collection of manuscripts for the study of Meiji society, culture, ethnology and education from the papers of Edward Sylvester Morse (1838-1925). Edward Morse was one of the first American to live in Japan teaching science at the Imperial University of Tokyo. Morse made notes on subjects as diverse as shop signs, fireworks, hairpins, agricultural tools, artists’ studios, music, games, printing, carpentry, the Ainu, gardens, household construction, art and architecture .
