About the speaker

Scott Peterson is the senior Middle East Correspondent for the American newspaper The Christian Science Monitor . A well-traveled and experienced foreign correspondent, he is also a photographer for Getty Images in New York, and has reported and photographed conflicts and powerful human narratives across three continents for more than 30 years. He graduated from Yale with a degree in English and first joined The Christian Science Monitor in 1996.

His highly praised books include Me Against My Brother: At War in Somalia, Sudan and Rwanda (Routledge, 2000) and Let the Swords Encircle Me: Iran--A Journey Behind the Headlines (Simon & Schuster, 2010).
