The Global Middle East Series
The Global Middle East book series published by Cambridge University Press was initiated by Prof. Arshin Adib-Moghaddam in 2016. In the same year, Prof. Ali Mirsepassi one of the doyens in the field, joined as a co-editor. Since then, The Global Middle East book series has been based at the SOAS Department of Politics and International Studies and New York University where Professor Mirsepassi is the Gallatin Research Excellence Professor. The book series has since grown to present some of the most avant-gardist scholarship that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of the disciplines it speaks to. It has featured fresh scholarship from world-renowned scholars and forthcoming academics who employ theoretically rigorous and innovative methodological frameworks resonating across relevant disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. In particular, the editors-in-chief welcome approaches that focus on mobility, the erosion of nation-state structures, travelling ideas and theories, transcendental techno-politics, the decentralization of grand narratives, and the dislocation of ideologies inspired by popular movements. The series also considers translations of works by authors in these regions whose ideas are salient to global scholarly trends but have yet to be introduced to the Anglophone academy.
So far the book series has published the work of following SOAS scholars.
