Sites of Encounter: School of Arts Photography Exhibition 2020
Students from across SOAS were invited to submit entries for this year's School of Arts Photography Competition, which is organised into three categories: SOAS: Action, Identity, Community; The Field: Research and Connections; and Passages: Celebrations, Transitions, and Departures. Due to the developments surrounding the coronavirus pandemic we are pleased to be able to widely share the top fifteen entries in a virtual exhibition format. Congratulations to the first prize winner, Manvir Singh Brar, and our runner-ups, Max Doray, Shangxiner Li, and Ela Deniz Yokes!

First Prize Winner
Manvir Singh Brar (BA History of Art - 2020)
'Baba', 2019
Baba, an elderly labourer, farms on the land of his employers, the Mann family, at 'Inaami Wala Khoo' (Well of the Winners/Awardees), near the town of Amloh, district Fatehgarh Sahib, Panjab, India. On a warm September evening he busies himself in the making of raised irrigation lines and supervises workers in the fields where 'Kanak' (wheat) is grown.
