Abstract

Bangladesh's economy was experiencing high growth before the outbreak ofcoronavirus pandemic. COVID-19 has disrupted the economy as it has done to the global economy. The pandemic-induced economic fallout has impacted the livelihoods of a large number of people through loss of jobs and income. With the gradual resumption of economic activities, some economic indicators are showing promising signs. Now the challenge will be how to make the post-COVID recovery path inclusive and sustainable.

Biography

Dr Fahmida Khatun is the Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a leading think tank in South Asia. She has accomplished Masters and PhD in Economics from the University College London, UK. She did her Post-Doctoral research at Columbia University, USA.
