This certificate is equivalent to one year of the BA degree in Languages & Cultures (South Asia Pathway), and is designed for students who want to study South Asia but cannot commit themselves to a three year degree programme.

Entry requirements
- The minimum entry requirement is the ability to demonstrate the potential to study at undergraduate level. However, programmes may have their own specific requirements, such as, in the case of language-based studies, a proven ability to learn a language.

The composition of the Certificate is flexible, but would typically be similar to that of the first year of BA Languages & Cultures (South Asia Pathway), consisting of a language, introductory modules, and/or further units on South Asian subjects from within the Department or elsewhere in the School. Individual programmes have to be approved by the Programme Convenor or the Head of Department.

Fees go up each year, therefore your tuition fee in your second and subsequent years of study will be higher.
Our continuing students, on the same degree programme, are protected from annual increases higher than 5%.
