Biography

Christina holds a PhD in Intercultural Communication and currently works as a research assistant in a Horizon 2020 project conducted by the Department of Politics and International Studies at Warwick University as well as a Midlands Innovation project of the same institution. Christina's doctoral project was fully funded by the Chancellor's Scholarship at Warwick University and investigates the discursive construction of trust in cross-border business partnerships between Turkey and Greece. The project adopts an ethnographic approach and seeks to capture the ways in which trustworthiness is understood and warranted by participants. The data were collected over three fieldtrips in Greece and Turkey and include 56 hours of in-depth semi-structured ethnographic interviews with business partners as well as audio and video recordings of interaction, including formal meetings, dinners, visits and everyday talk. The data were analysed from an interactional sociolinguistic perspective, drawing substantially on positioning theory.
