Biography

Etain Casey is an EAP and subject support teacher for Development Studies and Business Management at the Foundation College at SOAS University of London, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
Etain teaches on the IFCELS introductory short courses, at Certificate and Diploma level, on postgraduate in-sessional support and on the teacher training course (TEAP) as well as Global Business and Business on the annual IFCELS Summer School programme. She has a keen interest in the development of distance, blended and online teaching materials, assessment and curriculum development, and teacher education.
Her research interests are business and finance and in the history and development of English language teaching. Her publications may be viewed on her Google scholar pages.
Before moving to SOAS, Etain was Lecturer in English Language Teaching at the Open University, Lecturer in English Language at London Metropolitan University and Lecturer in English Language at Kings College London. She completed her doctorate at the University of Oulu, Finland in 2017.
