Biography

Fatima Sator is a Research Associate at the Center of International Studies and Diplomacy. After her Master's in International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS, Fatima joined the UN system where she worked as a communications consultant for various UN offices including UN Women, the ILO, and the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP). Fatima, along with Elise Dietrichson, is also part of the "Women and the UN Charter" project, researching the origins of gender equality in the UN. Their work has been featured in several media including the New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, Daily Mail and Le Monde Diplomatique. Fatima has another Master's in Journalism, from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland and began her career as a journalist.

Research interests

Her research interests focus on gender equality in top positions in the UN System. She is currently researching the contribution of women from the Global South in including gender equality and human rights in the UN.
