Dr Jianwei Han is a Visiting Scholar at SOAS University of London. She is an Associate Professor and also the Director of the Iranian programmme of the Middle East Studies Institute, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU, China). Before joining SISU in 2017, she was a post-doctoral Research Fellow at West Asia and Africa Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). She got her PhD at the Middle East Studies Institute, Northwest University (China), her MA at Nankai University (China), and her BA at Qufu Normal University (China). Her main research interests are related to Iranian issues. In the past, she mainly studied on Iranian economic and social issues (e.g. women and youth) since the Islamic Revolution. Her current study is related to the Rouhani government’s foreign policy and the Gulf peace process. Her first book will be published in 2019, under the title Iranian Economic Modernization Process since Islamic Revolution.
