Biography
Before studying in the UK, Hyesook Yang studied German language and literature as an undergraduate and received her MA in German art history at Sookmyung Women’s University in Korea. She has been a curator at Seoul Museum of Art in Korea since 2007 and is currently on sabbatical leave from the museum. Her PhD investigates how artists responded to the conflict during the Korean War, and draws parallels to European visual responses to both World Wars.
