Student Counsellor (placement)

My pronouns are she/her and I am an associate student counsellor (part-time) in Student Advice and Wellbeing. I am pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at City University of London. I have a MSc in Experimental Psychology from University of Sussex.
I identify as Indian and come from a progressive South Indian working-class family. I speak English, Hindi and Kannada.
My work experience ranges across diverse cases with clients from different ethnicities, cultures and languages. I worked at a psychiatry clinic in Bangalore which provided counselling services to clients with minor and major mental health disorders. I also worked at an international school in Bangalore, offering therapy sessions and support to students, teachers and parents.
Currently, I am training in Cognitive and Behavioral Approaches to Counselling Psychology and use this therapy approach with my clients. My areas of interest are emotions, self-control, burnout, and the influence of culture on various constructs.
