William Chan obtained his BA in Philosophy (with first) from Lingnan University in 2016 and MA in Political and Legal Theory (with distinction and the highest overall mark of the cohort) from the University of Warwick in 2017. Between April and June 2019, he visited the Department of Law at Universitat Pompeu Fabra under the supervision of Andrew Williams. He joined SOAS in 2020 and is a Teaching Fellow of Introduction to Political Theory.
Supervised by Matthew Clayton and Mike Saward, he is also affiliated with the University of Warwick, where he teaches and conducts doctoral research into contemporary theories of meritocracy, democracy, justice and legitimacy.
