Matt taught in Japan for 5 years, followed by a short spell at a school in India. He started teaching part-time in IFCELS in 2005 whilst studying for a master's in Development Studies at SOAS. He has been Summer Programme Coordinator since 2012. Matt is interested in the following areas of English for Academic Purposes: integration of language and subject, reflection and feedback, critical thinking and social justice. Matt has also worked for Amnesty International and local NGOs in Cambodia, India and Japan.
Matt has worked at SOAS since 2005 and has an academic background in Philosophy and Development Studies. He has taught in Japan, India and Germany. As well as running the Summer Programme, Matt teaches Academic English and Research Methods.
