Alice Nicole Sindzingre is Associate Researcher at the LAM research centre (‘Les Afriques dans le Monde’, National Centre for Scientific Research/CNRS-Sciences-Po-Bordeaux, France) and at the CEPN (Centre d’Economie Paris-Nord, France). She is also Visiting Lecturer at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, University of London, department of economics) since 2003. She taught in 2008-2010 at the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences-Po-Paris) and in 2010-2014 at the University Paris-Nanterre (department of economics). In 2005-2008, she wrote the monthly column on the theories of development in the French newspaper Le Monde. She has also served as a consultant for governments and international organisations (such as the World Bank). She has been a member of the Core Team of the World Bank World Development Report 2000-1 on poverty. She has conducted research on development economics and political economy, mostly in West Africa. She has published articles in academic journals and books on a large range of topics, including international trade, foreign aid, regional integration, the relationships between Africa and China, poverty traps, the theory of institutions in relation with development, and the epistemology of economics.
