Biography

Robert Elgood has a BA  in Islamic History from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London University; and a DPHIL from Oxford University in Indian Anthropology. He was consultant in Indian and Islamic arms at Sotheby's London in the 1980s and Research Fellow, Eastern European, Islamic and Asian Arms and Armour at the Wallace Collection 2006 - 2012.

Teaching

He lecturers at the British Museum, the Wallace Collection, SOAS, The Victoria and Albert Museum and in 2008 gave a paper at a seminar at the Metropolitan Museum, N.Y. on the arms and armour of the Deccan. The papers from this seminar are currently being published by Harvard University Press. He has also been invited to contribute to Prof. James Allan’s Festshrift in 2010.
