PhD Research

My research focuses on the narratives and experiences of Zimbabweans in Britain, particularly how they consume space and place, and consequently negotiate being and belonging, through music.

The thrust is to bring to the fore experiences of migrant spaces that are not necessarily characterised by abjection, but manifest the complexities of migrant and diasporic identifications, through a not-oft explored avenue in the studies on Zimbabwean migrants, music.
