Information for International Students

Banking

We have surveyed the local banks and asked them what kind of current account they can offer a SOAS student who is new to the UK.  Download our information sheet on the right (PDF) for full details, and to compare all the different local banks.

In the left column you will also find information on:-

  • International Students House
  • HOST visits
  • UKCISA

Students with Disabilities

International students with a Disability (long-term mental or physical health condition impacting your studies) can expect to have access to the full range of disability-related services at SOAS. This includes adjustments such as exam arrangements and Study Inclusion Plans. For more information, please see the Disability section.

As international students are not eligible for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) we offer the following:

  • loan equipment e.g. laptops and digital recorders
  • drop-ins and bookable sessions with the Learning Advisor or Mentor
  • access to a range of workshops and events

Support also includes a weekly assistive technology drop-in. For more information please see the Events page.
