The SOAS short course in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, an introduction in partnership with Balloon Ventures was run in Term 1, 2015.
Being enterprising is not the same as having an ambition to be self-employed. Rather it is someone who is characterized by a particular mix of individuality, creativity and leadership. These are key skills and increasingly demanded by academic and non-academic employers and research organisations. Skills such as intuitive decision making with limited information, coping with uncertainty, negotiation and building relationships are all the things so regardless of which sector you wish to work in, employers will look for applicants with a keen awareness of this area. Learn all about these topics and hear great examples from the world of social enterprise and international development from our partner organisation Balloon Ventures.
