Synopses

The Magician on the Skywalk

Ten different stories of nine kids are tied together by their shared experience of growing up in the Chinese Shopping Mall and their encounter with a mysterious magician on the skywalk - an encounter that will change their life forever. The Magician on the Skywalk is arguably the first fantasy TV series in Taiwan, combining realist storytelling with a distinctly Taiwanese brand of fantasy.

Episode 1: 99th Floor
Magician on the Skywalk Ep1

The young son of a shoe shop, Kiddie, is obsessed with a certain arcade game that involves nude visuals. One day, a tramp who claims that he is a magician sets up a stall in the shopping mall that houses Kiddie’s family shop, and a zebra pops out from the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Episode 2: The Paper Man
Skywalk 2

The magician’s stall happens to be right next to Kiddie on a skywalk between two malls where he peddles insoles. The little boy is deeply intrigued by an animated paper humanoid from the magician’s stall and, much to his mother’s wrath, ends up buying it with his precious earnings.
