Professor Tamo Mibang received his PhD in History at Dibrugarh University in 1988 and joined Arunachal University in the same year; he was appointed Professor in 1994. He was for several years General Secretary, Adi Sahitya Sabha (Association for Adi-Tribal Literature); and he is now Editor of Arunachal University Research Journal as well as a member of the Governing Board for the North-East Zone Cultural Centre. Prof. Mibang also served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor of Arunachal University. He is author of Social Change in Arunachal Pradesh and co-author of An Introduction to Adi Language; his most recent publication is a book of folktales from the Adi tribe. Prof. Mibang is the chief advisor to the Tribal Transitions Project in India.
