Half of all students who come to SOAS are students from outside the UK and it is this multicultural environment that helps make SOAS special. Being an international student is different and requires you to take care of a lot of practical matters upon arrival and know what your status means in terms of services offered to you, costs, visas, etc.
In order to help our international students get the best possible start to their degree, we offer the following events during Welcome Week:
International Students Talk – 26 September
This talk will be an introduction to your studies as an international student at SOAS, with information from International Advice and Student Services, English Language support and the Students' Union.
The talk will take place at 14:00-15:30 in the Brunei Gallery Lecture Theatre, Brunei Gallery Building. This talk is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Information Fair – 26 September
The Information Fair will take place in the Cloister of the Paul Webley Wing, and include stalls from local medical practices, SOAS housing service, the Students’ Union, Student Advice and Wellbeing, mobile phone companies, and more. The information stalls should help give you a good start to your degree and let you take care of the first logistical arrangements of your life in London, whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student. Drop by any time between 11:00 and 15:00.
