Are you interested in finding out more about studying Languages and Law at university? Do you want to visit university campuses and meet current language students at universities such as SOAS, Queen Mary, UCL, the Open University, King's College London and the University of Westminster?

The Capital L Languages & Law Summer School is an exciting opportunity for Year 12 students to explore two fascinating disciplines and find out more about how the two subjects can be combined at university-level study. Students will attend a mixture of in-person and online language and culture workshops, lectures from academics, talks from careers consultants and current students, a trip to an exciting venue, and more!
Students are not required to be studying neither Languages nor Law at A Level to attend.

The programme for the Languages & Law Summer School is as follows:

  • Monday 1st (in person) - SOAS University of London
  • Tuesday 2nd (online) - University College London
  • Wednesday 3rd (online) - Queen Mary, University of London and The Open University
  • Thursday 4th (in person) - Trip to a Law-related venue and certificate ceremony at SOAS

To apply, please complete the following application form by Friday 27th May 2022

As part of the application, we ask that a teacher write a short statement in support of your application. An automatic email will be sent to your teacher asking for a reference. We will not be able to confirm your place until we have received permission from your guardian for you to attend.

Please note that this is a widening participation initiative, and priority will be given to students who fulfil one or more of the following criteria: would be the first generation in their family to attend university; qualify or have qualified for free school meals; have experience of care.
