This Black History Month event aims to help students think critically about what Black History Month means to them (by reflecting on their own histories and experiences). During the day there will be language tasters, film, lectures and much more; with a focus on Black British history.

Schools will be able to bring a maximum of 10 students but additional places may become available. Please note, in order to be eligible for this event, students must fulfil one or more of the following criteria:

  • would be the first generation in their family to attend university
  • qualify or have qualified for free school meals
  • have experience of care

Students in year 12 and 13 can also apply to attend the event individually by filling in this form. Students applying individually must have the permission of both their school and parent/ carer to attend. The deadline for individual applications is also Wednesday October 16th.
