BA History and Arabic
I found the Masterclass to be really interesting and both a valuable insight into the style of learning at SOAS and the social environment. It gave me a better idea of what to expect at university and at SOAS in particular.
I had decided to study History prior to my experience of SOAS but I added Arabic to my degree choice and this was very much a result of influence from SOAS. I heard a lot about languages generally after attending events and speaking to both students and members of staff. Arabic was already an area of interest for me and after hearing about the level of language teaching at SOAS and students' experiences of language learning I decided to change my degree title to a Joint honours degree in History and Arabic.
I still see student Ambassadors around and they continue to be friendly faces that make me feel welcome to SOAS. The same can be said for the ADD staff and the lecturers involved in activities such as Masterclasses.
