Biography

Mylin is a PhD research student in the Centre of Global Media and Development.

He has experience in the fields of education, philosophy, and communications.  He has engaged in teaching in various schools, particularly around Mumbai, India. He also spent a few years teaching philosophy in the seminary of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Nashik, India. Apart from teaching subjects based on the history of philosophy, he taught courses in Communications and Subaltern Philosophies.  

During his years of teaching, he also served as the Assistant Director of Tej-Prasarini: Don Bosco Communications Centre in Mumbai and was the Editor of the Regional Magazine and Newsletter ‘SDB West’. His work also involved conducting seminars and sessions on Media Education, Value Education, Leadership Skills, and Social Media Management.  

Having honed his journalistic skills with a postgraduate diploma in Journalism and Mass Communications, he enjoys feature writing, interviews, graphic designing, and social media management apart from writing for academia.

Research interests

Mylin's research interests include The Catholic Church and New Media; Digital Research Methods; Social Media: Characteristics and Impact; Youth and Media; Media in the Global South; Graphic Design and the Role of design in daily life; and Computer Mediated Communication.
