About the Partner

With nearly 60% of its faculty and 25% of its student body hailing from overseas, AIU teaches all content courses in English and requires all undergraduate students to spend one year studying abroad at one of over 200 exchange partners in over 50 countries, ensuring an unrivalled international education.

About the Agreement

SOAS and Akita International University (AIU) have formed a partnership to foster cooperation between the two institutions. The partnership enables suitably qualified graduates of Akita International University (AIU) to undertake taught, one-year graduate degrees (MA/MSc) at SOAS University of London.

As part of the signed agreement between SOAS and AIU, there is a 15% discount on the international student fees.

Please note that SOAS LLM programmes are not included in the SOAS/AIU agreement.

Entry Requirements

The programs for admission are not restricted to the School of Finance and Management Studies and the Department of Economics; all other master's programmes, with the exception of LLM degrees from the School of Law, accept AIU students for progression to SOAS (with minimum GPA 3.0).

Minimum course grades are required for some degrees so please make sure that you check this on the programme page before applying. 

You can apply to 2 programmes, but you can only receive one offer at a time.
