Student Counselling Service

What we offer...

  • A confidential counselling service to students in the School, by mutual agreement
  • Counsellors who are professionally trained and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy who are bound by their professional codes of ethics and practice
  • An opportunity for you to reflect on personal or academic concerns central to your wellbeing, with respect given to your individuality and your social, cultural and racial identity
  • Occasional workshops on specific topics relevant to managing the pressures and challenges of student life
  • An opportunity to review the counselling offered as it progresses
  • Information about counselling resources outside the School (for details contact studentadviceandwellbeing@soas.ac.uk)
  • Information about what to expect on your first appointment when you see a counsellor
