Graduation Ceremonies 2012
About graduation
When you have successfully completed your degree programme you may wish to attend a SOAS Graduation Ceremony. You do not need to do this to receive your degree, but many students enjoy the opportunity to celebrate their achievements with friends, family and SOAS staff.

Booking tickets
If you wish to attend, you must book a place for yourself and your guests.
The final deadline for booking is Friday 29th June 2012. You will not be able to attend if you have not booked.
We strongly recommend that you book as early as possible. If you are in your final year, you should not wait for your results. We will be happy to refund the cost of tickets if you or any of your guests are unable to attend, so long as you inform us before your ceremony.
You can book places for yourself and up to two guests. If there are space seats after bookings close, we will allocate additional guest tickets to those that made the earliest bookings.
Ticket cost £15 for graduands and £25 for guests. This includes the reception after the ceremony.
Guests without seats in the main graduation hall are very welcome to come to SOAS with you on the day of your ceremony. They will be able to watch the event by video link.
Please note that children under the age of 10 will not be admitted to the main graduation hall. They are however welcome to sit in the viewing suite if accompanied by an adult.

- Book photography
- Arrange travel and accommodation for yourself and your guests. You are strongly advised to book hotel accommodation, if required, as early as possible. Demand will be high throughout July 2012 due to the Olympics.

Graduation ceremony schedule
The list below shows which degrees will be awarded at each of this year's ceremonies.
It is important that you allow enough time on the day of your ceremony for collection of tickets, robing and photography. This year London will be busy in the run up to Olympics, so travel is likely to be slower that usual and there will be some road closures near to SOAS.
When to Arrive on the Day
Afternoon Ceremony Wednesday 18 July
Registration opens 9:30am; Graduands must be seated by 2.15pm.
Morning Ceremony Thursday 19 July
Registration opens 7:00am; Graduands must be seated by 9:30am.
Afternoon Ceremony Thursday 19 July
Registration opens 12:30pm; Graduands must be seated by 3pm.
Afternoon Ceremony Friday 20 July
Registration opens 9:30am; Graduands must be seated by 2.15pm.
