About

The College of Development, Economics and Finance (CoDEF) houses three departments, nine on-campus undergraduate programmes, 18 on-campus postgraduate programmes, and a range of online programmes and courses.

Our College brings together experts in development studies, economics, and finance to explore and address the complex economic and development challenges facing the world's diverse societies. We seek to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives needed to navigate the complexity of the global economy and contribute to positive change.

In the College, we continuously look at ways to improve the student experience and to integrate employability into our curriculum, offering work placements and modules ranging from Digital Marketing and Green Finance to Feminist Political Economy and Aid and Development.

"It’s an exciting time to be leading learning and teaching in the College of Development, Economics and Finance, spearheading new initiatives and working in collaboration with colleagues and students to promote a truly unique SOAS-ian student experience."

— Hannah Bargawi, College Convenor Teaching and Learning
