Tax-efficient giving

Overview

If you are a resident of the UK, USA or Canada, there are tax-efficient giving modes available to you.

When you donate to SOAS, you play a pivotal role in educating future activists and peacemakers, and your contributions directly shape the future of policy, human rights, and global economies.

If you would like to make a transformational gift, please contact Director of Advancement & Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor, Shona Aitken, at sa165@soas.ac.uk.

Giving from the UK

Gift Aid

If you’re a UK taxpayer, you can add 25% to the value of your gift with Gift Aid. By selecting Gift Aid, SOAS will claim 25p on every £1 donated.

When you make your gift, make sure to select the following Gift Aid declaration:

'I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference. Please notify us if you want to cancel this declaration; change your name, or home address; or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains. If you pay Income Tax at the higher, or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.'

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)

SOAS is proud to accept CAF vouchers online or via post. Please send any post CAF vouchers to:
