Updating your details
By letting us know where you live and work, we can invite you to events happening near you—from networking with SOAS academics to international gatherings and special trips. It also means we can share local opportunities, celebrate your achievements, and help you stay part of the SOAS community—wherever you are.
Alumni email
Your student email account is automatically converted into an alumni account four months after you graduate. You will have received information about this from the Student Communications team. To access your account, please visit https://outlook.live.com.
Your alumni email is your personal SOAS ID number @alumni.soas.ac.uk—for example: 123456@alumni.soas.ac.uk. The password should be the same as the password for your student email. You must log into the account at least once every 365 days for it to remain active. If you have not logged into your Outlook email account for several years, you will not be able to activate it, and will not have access to older files or emails.
The IT team are best placed to support you with issues accessing your student and/or alumni email account. For SOAS IT support, please raise a ticket in our technology services portal; alternatively, you can submit a public form.
Graduation
Graduation is a special occasion where SOAS celebrates the hard work and success of our graduating students. For information about upcoming ceremonies, visit the Graduation pages or email ceremony@soas.ac.uk.
Transcripts and certificates
While our Alumni team doesn’t handle transcripts or certificates, we know these are important documents you may need after graduation. You can find guidance on how to request copies, order duplicates, or arrange delivery through the dedicated SOAS transcripts and certificates service.
Academic references
Email academicreferences@soas.ac.uk to apply for verification letters (employment or otherwise), proof of study, or council tax exemption letters.
