Biography
Mario Arulthas is a PhD candidate in the Department of Politics and International Studies. His research interests are transnationalism, nationalism, conflict, diaspora, and international relations. He worked in international advocacy related to Tamil political issues, transitional justice and human rights protection for several years, in Washington DC, New York, London, and Geneva. His roles included Advocacy Director with the US-based advocacy group, People for Equality and Relief in Lanka (PEARL). Before beginning his doctoral research at SOAS, Mario held a Human Rights Fellowship at the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, City College of New York.
