Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Network
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Network is a space to discuss and develop actions to make SOAS a more inclusive, equitable place to work and study.
The network, which is open to staff and students, meets termly based on the following objectives:
- Actively promote equality and diversity across the University
- Engage with ongoing EDI concerns facing staff and students and support campaigns
- Make appropriate recommendations to the EDI Committee to ensure accountability
Colleague networks
Our colleague networks have been at the forefront of change-making through our equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
By joining our networks, colleagues can benefit both professionally and personally by making a wide range of connections and engaging in such a way that will reward their role within SOAS.
Student groups and societies
Student groups are an opportunity for students to meet like-minded people with similar interests and passions. Their core function is to provide our students with opportunities that enhance their University experience – such as sports clubs, societies and student jobs – and to be a platform through which their voices can be heard.
Disability
We are committed to creating a supportive and accessible working environment, which allows colleagues and students to achieve their full potential, irrespective of disability.
Harassment and bullying
SOAS is fully committed to creating a working environment which is based on mutual respect and trust, and in which harassment and discrimination are neither tolerated nor acceptable.
Digital accessibility
We are responsible for ensuring that the websites and intranet sites we own, and the content and documents we publish within these channels, are accessible to all.
