Course overview

This is a 3-week academic English course for students from pre-intermediate level and upwards. It focusses on strengthening the main English language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) within a university context. Students will also expand both general and academic vocabulary, as well as developing greater confidence in communicating effectively in English in the classroom.

Classes take place everyday from Monday - Friday, and are led by two English for Academic Purposes specialists who target literacy (reading and writing) and oracy (listening and speaking).

Who should apply

This course would be particularly beneficial for students currently taking degrees in their home countries, in addition to those thinking about future university study in the UK.

Entry recommendations

To get the most from the course we recommend that students have at least a pre-intermediate level of English, i.e. IELTS 4.5 overall or equivalent.

I have learned a lot from this course, especially British culture and English language habits. We had a lot of cross-cultural communication during and after classes, which was very interesting. I’m really happy to choose this course!
