Meet the hosts
Professor Eddie Bruce-Jones is Dean of the College of Law at SOAS. Before this, he was Executive Dean of Law at Birkbeck, University of London, and practised law at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, focusing on corporate and pro bono asylum and international law cases. He holds degrees from Harvard University, Columbia Law School, King's College London, and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and has taught at various universities, including Boston University and the Max Planck Institute. He is the author of Race in the Shadow of Law: State Violence in Contemporary Europe and has published widely on racial equality, migration law, and law and humanities.
Benjamin Siddall-Jones has been working as a professional fundraiser across higher education and the arts since 2015. Since joining SOAS in January 2022, he works with supporters at all levels, guiding them in creating transformative and meaningful impact for our students and programmes through philanthropic support.
Ben is the fundraising liaison for the College of Law, Anthropology and Politics as well as the School of History, Religions and Philosophies, and is Secretary to the School’s Fundraising Advisory Board. He also works closely with our alumni, donors and senior volunteers in the USA.
