Biography
Professor Nakanishi is currently a Professor of the Graduate School of Global Studies at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.
Her expertise includes women’s movements in contemporary Iran and Iran’s security policy since 2001. She has published books and journal articles on Iranian women’s activism, the political aspects of sanctions against Iran, cyber security capabilities of Iran, and its implications for Middle East conflicts. She has held visiting professorial appointments at the Intentional and Political Institute (Iran) in 2001, Duke University in 2014, and SOAS University of London in 2022.
Professor Nakanishi received her Ph.D. in History from the University of California at Los Angeles.
