Luca Mannocchi

My research interests span from rural economies and livelihoods to economic development, late industrialization and contemporary industrial policy, private sector development and global value chains with an emphasis on the implications for developing countries. I am also interested and experienced in social network analysis and in monitoring and evaluation methods for market-based development interventions. My PhD research project looks at growth strategies and rural transformations in Bhutan, particularly how rural households are able to successfully diversify into higher productivity activities by leveraging on social networks.
