We are pleased to invite you to a series of special events introducing Korean traditional culture, organised by the Centre of Korean Studies, SOAS University of London, in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centre UK and the Korea Tourism Organization London Office.

This research explores the housing cliff-edge facing people granted refuge in the UK, examining local authority responses, gaps in transitional support, and the risk of homelessness. It also highlights innovative practices and partnerships improving pathways to secure housing.

This talk focuses on the autobiographical writings of the eminent 20th century Chan master Laiguo Miaoshu.

Alessandra Francone is a doctoral researcher in the LCL department. Her thesis "The effects of sociohistorical context on lexical borrowing: a re-evaluation of "basic vocabulary"" straddles historical linguistics and contact linguistics, and focuses on lexical borrowing in languages spoken in the Baltic region and the central Mediterranean.
