Biography
Ananyo Mukherjee holds an MSc in Development Policy, Planning, and Practice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India where he earned an institutional gold medal for outstanding academic performance and research.
He completed his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from India. Since his undergraduate years, he has engaged with Indian people’s movements, advocating for anti-eviction campaigns, agrarian crises, indigenous rights, and labour justice. With over eight years as a development practitioner, he has worked as a public policy professional with both government and non-government organisations, engaging in World Bank, ADB, DFID, and UNICEF projects on research and policy interventions. His research orientation centres on interrogating capital-labour dynamics in postcolonial India, employing a decolonial lens to challenge Eurocentric narratives and amplify Global South perspectives.
