Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Knowledge and Transfer Partnerships

The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme helps businesses in the UK to innovate and grow. It does this by linking them with a university and a graduate. The scheme is part funded by a government grant.

A KTP enables a business to bring in new skills and the latest academic thinking from SOAS to deliver a specific, strategic innovation project through a knowledge-based partnership. We can help you:

  • develop your business and improve your business performance
  • access academic expertise that you don’t have in-house
  • help you to become more competitive and productive.

If you partner with SOAS, we will help to recruit a suitable graduate, known as an Associate. We will employ the Associate, but they will be based at your premises, working with you in the same way as any other member of your team.

KTPs are strategic projects – the purpose of the partnership is to embed knowledge and expertise to make a real difference to how the company works in the future.

The scheme can last between 12 and 36 months, depending on what the project is and the needs of your business.

At SOAS, we have staff dedicated to working with you to make connections within SOAS, scope out the project, put together your application, and ensure that your KTP runs smoothly once awarded.

You can read more about KTP on the Innovate UK website. If you are interested in partnering with SOAS on a KTP, please get in contact with the Enterprise team.
